I'm thinking that it's not the presidential election that will be stolen, but the race for the control of the senate will be where the votes get stolen. Hear me out: At this time, Joe Biden is so far ahead of Rump, it will be difficult to alter the results of the election for a Rump win. In several states, however, the races for senate are very close, 5 percentage points or fewer. Those races would be far easier to alter the results. Maybe that's the reason for Moscow Mitch's horrific giggling at his debate with Amy McGrath. Maybe he knows that the fix is in, and the republican party is OK with throwing Rump under the bus to save the power of the Senate. Rump isn't the only one in Putin's pocket. Am I being too paranoid?
I guess the only way to tell will be after the election and the votes are counted. Let's say I live in a red state. The electorate goes 56% for Joe, but somehow records only 35% for the democratic senatorial candidate, when the polls indicate the race to be much closer. South Carolina, I'm looking at you! If this happens, what can we expect, except for maybe a re-count?

(94,682 posts)There is no evidence that it happened in the past.
There is no candidate, campaign manager or Party leader who says it happened.
The same "hackable voting machines" were the ones that gave us the House in 2018.

(17,587 posts)That has happened in the recent past.

(9,263 posts)environment. A wave election can not be predicted for final outcome, you look at where GOP has to throw money to "save" a "safe" GOP seat and that tells you the story/ Look at where trump campaign has reduced or pulled out campaign spending.
This is a wave, how high? Will know Nov 3rd evening after California polls close

(15,465 posts)Tillis is still behind, but by much less than last month. CO and AZ I agree are sure bets we win. IA we are less than 5 points ahead, so that one I'm not certain. However, there is Maine. Collins I'm certain will not win.
As for SC, MT, KS, AK, and 2 in GA, we will probably win a couple of those. Our only sure bet to lose a Democratic held seat is Alabama.

(15,325 posts)Trump's been yelling Voter Fraud for a year now.
Considering he's managed to litigate himself out of every challenge he's faced, it's his normal path to success.
This is probably the main reason Mitch & his Senate is rushing thru Barrett.
She has to be seated before Nov 3rd.
He will challenge every key State all the way to the SC where he will call in favors.
Because that's his game.
That's my only fear in this election & it's a big one.

(15,650 posts)Unless Trump is willing to use violence (armed federal agents, who have to be willing to risk incarceration or death) to seize ballots before they have been counted, the states will complete their initial counts, despite Trumps attempts at disruption and distraction.
Once the initial counts have been completed, Trump could attempt to challenge the results, starting in state courts, and working his way up to SCOTUS. If Bidens margins are as large as expected, Trumps challenges will fail. Trump would have to succeed in multiple states in order to flip enough EVs to get to 270.
In the meantime, In order to meet the December 8 safe harbour deadline, the Dem Secretaries of State (In PA, WI, and MI) could certify the actual results, and the Dem governors would appoint the appropriate Biden slates of electors.
2020 isnt going to unfold like 2000- I expect the unexpected, but not the unrealistic.

(14,022 posts)that votes have been switched. If that were the case, we wouldn't have had a President Obama for 8 years, plus the blue wave of 2018.
