I seriously do not get it. I never will. This man is such a complete and utter fraud. Everything he says is nothing but a lie.
CNN cuts away.
Brianna Keilor: "The president has said a myriad of lies."
He said that we will not have a vaccine by the end of the year. That his recovery is the norm. That the virus will be over soon. That the drugs will be free.....all of it lies.
Seniors siting inside and close.
It is so sick. This is just so sick.

(10,749 posts)Maybe it's something along the lines of Bowling Alone.
Over the past forty years we have lost something along the lines of a sense of community. Well, at least sociologists tell us that. In my case - purely anecdotal, a few people out of 325 million - my wife and I live alone. We know some of our neighbors only in passing; most we don't know. Children are scattered. One travels non-stop, and the other lives 800 miles away, and thanks to Covid we haven't seen our granddaughter but once, before Covid. Only surviving parent is my mom, who is in her nineties and lives 1500 miles away. No substantial contact with siblings and their offspring. We don't belong to a church. Our community is ourselves.
Bothers my wife more than me. My guiding philosophy is LMTFA.
To the extent that others share this kind of situation, I can appreciate the desire to belong - Maybe to a religious following. Maybe to a political group, maybe to a cultural group. And in many cases this is just fine. In the case of the MAGAts, the draw is to QAnon and the trumpist movement. Maybe they believe the tenets of such groups, maybe not. But they belong. They're not alone. Oh, sure, their group consists of fascist batshit nutjobs, but they are their fascist batshit nutjobs. Maybe they are the equivalent of the good Germans of Nazi Germany. It's easier to go along with their community than to fight a battle with their neighbors and be left out, or behind.
It's sick beyond imagination, and sociologists and historians will have a field day down the line, but maybe these people just need to belong, even if they chose poorly.
Or. . .
They're just fucking nuts.

This is like a travelling comedy routine. He thinks he is a stand up comic.
We always knew republicans didn't have a normal sense of humor. It's why they fail at doing tv comedy. This just proves it. All they have is sarcasm.
