Michelle Goldberg on MSNBC with Ari Melber

She is 100% correct. Democrats have serious PTSD from what happened on election night in 2016. It doesn't matter what the polls say. Every Democrat is going to make sure that they vote. No one is going to think "We have this in the bag." Joe Biden is going to get every single vote that is out there for him.

My vote is in. Vote early if you can, but vote!

and we tend to get kicked in the face more by the voting process so we are more skeptical of good news.

She's right, our turnout isn't going to be a problem this time around. No matter what the polls say.

I think they are pretty accurate (within 2-3 pts) but I was going to vote this year no matter what they said, no matter what it took.

Trump supporters who were "afraid" to reveal themselves to pollsters before the election.

That's what was posited for the surprise element. The secret Trump voters, hiding in the shadows until election day, then overwhelming us at the ballot box.

That just can't ring true. Not then, not now. Never been such a thing as a Trump supporter afraid to voice their support. They are loudest, whiniest, self-aggrandizing egoists ever to walk on American soil. Good for us, at least now, they never shut up. So they've been counted. That core group of nearly 40% that can't tell you what they like about him but they sure know he pisses off liberals, their numbers are known. No more secret Trump supporters, no more converts, and no more truly undecideds. Come on.

I don't expect that kind of surprise on election night. I more expect a slow-motion post-election ratfuck that will have all of us crawling on the floor and scratching at the walls. The only remedy is a royal blue avalanche. Honestly. That's the only remedy.

damnedest to suppress the vote concerning Democrats.

Keep eye on the prize.
