Just as a pre-election reminder

Bill Maher's last interview with President Obama right before the 2016 election:

See what an intelligent, realistic, benevolent, "been-there" leader talks like.

Maher was actually speaking like a competent, thoughtful journalist--a very different persona from the comedian. His questions were well thought-out, and he didn't do the Republican "interrupt everything" routine. Yes, he HAD to address pot legalization, but even so, he found the right balance between deference, respect and inquiry.

This is an interview that Trump wouldn't be able to give if he were to steal another 4 terms in office. This is an interview with a REAL president.

I almost wish I could be around in 100 years to see what the historians then will say about his one disastrous term. They will have perspective that we can't possibly have.

Thanks for posting the clip, my dear DFW.

Maher worked on landing this for years.

It's a good interview, not great. Obama was on his way out and gave some prepackaged, sugar-coated answers. You can see Maher getting a bit frustrated. But it's a breath of fresh air compared to the pop farts we're having to sniff today.
