Probably stupid questions: Does Trump even possess his own copy of the 60 Minutes interview? (Original Post) Atticus Oct 2020 OP

Interesting question. Maybe 60 Minutes required him to sign an NDA. Wouldn't that be ironic, if so? alwaysinasnit Oct 2020 #5

As a condition of the interview, since he's the President and he's paranoid.

Probably the same videographer who recorded that footage of Stahl without a mask.

for "archival purposes" only and that releasing it would "breach their agreement.."

Therefore, I expect an edited version to be released soon.

He also records calls with journalists (see: Woodward) because he is paranoid they’ll take what he says out of context, not realizing that there’s no good way to take anything he says.

I can't imagine CBS or any other network allowing interviewees to make their own recordings of what is essentially their intellectual property, which they routinely copyright.

Trump had someone actually record it for him, I doubt the network is just going to make their recording available to Trump.

There are usually copyright issues. It’s their own content.

As a rule, I can’t see a network just voluntarily supplying a copy of their tape to an interviewee.

As you wrote, Trump is just Twittering shit.

Trump records all his contacts / interviews with journalists because he is paranoid. He is afraid they'll take his insane ramblings ''out of context'' and edit them to make him look bad. He doesn't realize he just looks bad no matter how they edit the interviews.

Granted I’m not the president, but I’ve done plenty of interviews with journalists and they own the copy.

I would be surprised if 60 Minutes would give anyone, even the president, the right to edit.
