Update: My wife is still pretty sick, but she tested negative!

I'm very relieved.

I will have my test results in a few days...maybe tomorrow (Friday). I'm assuming I will be negative as well (fingers crossed).

Thanks for all of the well wishes in my original thread about this as shown below!

But I must advance the contrarian position in this thread. What good are “negative” test results if your wife is still sick? Screw the test results. The goal is to be healthy, not to test negative. I hope your wife is feeling better soon.

It looks like your quarantine really did keep you covid free.

Now... do you know what her actual illness is and how she got it?

It can hit her a bit again in a couple weeks, but for me, the relapse only lasted a couple days. I bet you are both relieved.

I know how you feel about being on pins and needles waiting for test results from a family member. Like I said in the original post, there's a lot of nasty rhinoviruses going around now. The thing that bugs me, if the rhinovirus can get through our defenses, it wouldn't be a stretch that COVID-19 could get through as well. Time to brush up on our defenses, and tighten them up.

Very happy for you!

I got a flu shot yesterday around noon. It stung a bit. Then my arm became swollen. Last night was horrible. Nausea, sore throat, muscle aches, congestion and zero sleep because of the nausea. So much better now. But it prevented me from taking my hubby to his cardio therapy this morning.

Every illness today is harmful in more ways than one. The stress is off the charts.
