I finally had an encounter with a trumpanzee

After moving into a new neighborhood a year and a half ago my wife and I have been slow to join the neighbors but there is a guy that lives across the street who we'd talk to occassionally. Well, it was more like listen to him cause he never shuts up for us to get a word in edgewise, but I digress.

three weeks ago a t 2020 sign got planted in his yard (it's a 5 plex section 8 building) I assumed it was someone else in the building and a week ago I asked him if it was his. He mumbled, yeah, I can't stand Democrats blah blah blah. I let it drop.

Today he came over to ask if he could borrow $20.00 til his check comes in this week. Must be on SSDI cause he's not old enough for SS but I don't know for sure. Anyway, I asked again, did you plant this sign and he said "Yes, I can't stand Democrats and the liberals are going to turn us into a communist country".

Beep: Wrong answer. I said, "Here we are, you're asking a Democratic,Liberal, Communist, Marxist,Socialist, rule abiding American Veteran for a $20.00 loan knowing the guy you're supporting wants to take away every piece of social safety net YOU rely on"
He went into the gun confiscation shit, the religion crap, and a few other talking points. By then I was pissed off and told him, "Go to the rnc at the Villages and borrow from them. See if they'll help ya out" The bile was rising in my throat and I left him standing next to the sign. As far as the $20, I don't care if he has to prostitute himself to get it.

I wish I could do what you did. I live in conservative central Pa and I drive a Transit bus. I get to hear clients talk among themselves and some of the BS they spew gets on my nerves. But as a Transit driver I am not supposed to talk about religion or politics since that can lead to arguments. But I came really close to telling off a client recently. His name was "Gill" and he is a disabled veteran who lives in subsidized housing and goes to the VA for medical care. He is on SSDI. One day he was ranting about the election as I was putting his wheelchair on my lift to get him into the bus. He went on and on about how much he hopes Trump wins and that the GOP takes back the House and keeps the Senate because the Democrats are "communists" who "hate this country". He even said Biden was a Marxist! BIDEN! The whole time I was biting my lip because I was so pissed off.
What I dearly wanted to say was, "If it weren't for liberal Democrats you wouldn't have subsidized housing, free VA medical care or free bus rides! If it were up to the GOP you would be living in a card-board box on the street begging for change from strangers! They would tell you to get a job or die! They would say you are a leech on society! None of the perks you have to keep you fed with a roof over your head came from Republicans! But you're too stupid to vote for your own self-interests. So don't give me that crap about 'socialism'! woman's disabled husband died from congestive heart failure a couple years ago.

I have a friend who I know is a trumpanzee but I don't care. She has tried telling me about the Hillary BS and Democratic this or that. And I always tell her not only that she's wrong but how she's wrong. So when she goes quiet I know I have reached her with my facts. The other day she called about something and she said the "Democrats" bla bla bla and I guess she picked the wrong day because I went off on her. I wasn't going to listen to her BS anymore. I stared with regan and worked my way forward. She went quiet about when I was completing the bush sr era. But I didn't stop the only thing I heard her say was well I'm not voting Democrat. And I told her I didn't want her to but I did want her to stay as a rethuglican and fix her Damn Party. By when I was done there was only silence, I really hope she looked up at least some of the facts. Because everything I told her was backed up with facts. We still speak and are friends but I wasn't going to put up with it anymore and I didn't. (I'm actually quite proud of myself lol)
