Wrong people voting? Trump sues. Mean ads? Trumps sue. "Anarchist cities"? Trump stops money.

Trump's endless use of law suits defines who he is. It's how he ran his businesses. He was involved in over 4,000 lawsuits (total on both sides) before he got the presidency (for comparison, the Guinness Book of World Records listed the world's most litigious man as bringing 5,500 suits - and was then sued by him, since he claimed it was just 4,000). He threatened to sue a lot more people too, to intimidate them, because he always went after people with a smaller legal budget.

And his campaign is suing people left, right and centre to cut down the votes. He's backing the lawsuit to kill the ACA. His daughter and son-in-law are suing the Lincoln Project for hurt fee-fees from a billboard in Times Square quoted their words.

So his claim is that some cities do not support their police officers enough, and that makes them, in his (or Stephen Miller's, or Bill Barr's) eyes "anarchist cities". So, if there's something they're doing they shouldn't, or something they should be doing but aren't, the obvious thing to do would be to sue. It's a kneejerk reaction for him, and if it were really true, it would be something for a court to decide, and then enforce.

But he doesn't. He orders the federal government to block funds, instead. Why? Because he knows it's bullshit, and he hasn't got much time left. It's not about getting the "right" outcome - which would be, by his argument, cities giving police power and money (and, not explicitly stated, carte blanche for violence), it's about "sticking it to the libs", which he hopes will cheer up his base of deplorables and make them think there's a chance of keeping the fucker in power.

He could not say the word "lawsuit" without the word "frivolous" in front of it.

That always gets me.

He always stiffs creditors and people who he owes money and that includes attorneys.

I wonder how they continue to get lawyers to work for free for them.

As for legal expenses, Trump had lawyers seek $1 million in damages from a former campaign aide who had accused another aide of sexual harassment and discrimination, the Times reported.

Trump also reportedly lassoed campaign donations to help him fight a California law that would have blocked him from running in the state unless he released his tax returns. That fight and others handled by the same firm cost his campaign and the RNC $1.8 million in legal fees, according to the Times.

In addition, the president and campaign associates hired lawyers to aid staff and family members — including Donald Trump Jr. and son-in-law Jared Kushner — when they were targeted in Russia and Ukraine probes. The RNC has already paid some $2.5 million in legal bills for that and other legal work, according to the Times.

The president has racked up a total in legal and compliance fees of at least $58.4 million since 2015 from Trump campaign and RNC contributions, according to data gathered by the Times and the Campaign Finance Institute.

That's compared to $10 million on those items in the equivalent period on Obama's 2008 campaign.
