Nancy Pelosi says she will seek another term as speaker if Democrats keep control of the House

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says that she will run for another term as speaker should Democrats keep control of the lower chamber.

When asked whether she would seek reelection in 2021, Pelosi told CNN "State of the Union" host Jake Tapper, "Yes, I am. But let me also say, we have to win the Senate."

The statement is in line with an agreement Pelosi made when she was elected to the office, which limits her speakership to four years.

That agreement came after the speaker was challenged by several members of the Democratic caucus from more conservative districts who saw Pelosi's position as an impediment to the party's electoral chances.

Thanks to the jungle primary, it was her against Jose de Leon, a fellow Democrat. Feinstein unfortunately won 54.2-45.8. That was the time to get rid of her, but de Leon was pretty much an unknown.

it needs to be someone who has the experience and knows the ins and outs. Someone that has been there for 4 to 8 years imo is not going to cut it. It is because of Speaker Pelosi's having spent many years in the House that gave her the knowledge along with her intelligence to be the Speaker.

Nitpicking and wanting to give her advice. Without her, these past four years would have been even worse, to say nothing of her many achievements pre-Trump.
