It repeatedly states that he will be delivering victory remarks at his gatherings. There is no question hes going to declare victory even if hes trailing in 39 states on election night. Its a big fuck you to everybody and since we know that there is nothing beneath him: no floor, no abyss into which he will not jump, hes going to do it. Hes going to say he won the election. And hes going to dare everyone to oust him by force. He assumes that Americans dont have any stomach for a battle like this, and he thinks he has the courts covered, so it isnt a question of what the scenario is on election night as to whether he declares or not, he is fully intending to declare victory. The media of Course will give him his due, and allows him a hand hold.
For you younger people, this is why the allies declared that they were going to seek unconditional surrender against the Axis powers in World War II. There would be no allowance of any aspect of theres politics to exist, at least publicly. Interestingly, every soldier so to speak, knew when that statement was made and he would probably die fighting, because it would mean that they would have to fight all the way to the centers of Berlin and Tokyo. The former was true as the final battles Took a significant toll, and of course the latter was not necessary due to the unknown expected existence of an atomic weapon. My father told me about this, and that he knew his life was over because he was in the Pacific and was slated to be in the expeditionary force which wouldve landed in Japan, in which he would most likely be killed. He spent the tail end of his life in disbelief that he had survived, such was the assumption of Pending mortality. In fighting Trump, we have to have unconditional surrender from him and his minions or there will be no victory.

(43,364 posts)It was all so unfair! People voted, I was sick, people couldn't vote because they were sick, the lines were clogged with brown people so MAGAt's couldn't vote, mail-in ballots were stuffed by inner-city bag men, suburbs moms were terrorized, the courts prevented a fair election, let's sue them again for justice, polling places had no surveillance, guns scared away MAGAts from the polls, guns were not allowed enough at the polls, Sleepy Joe hypnotized voters, voters didn't have free choice except my voters ...
This whining will never end, and yes, reading his thought/tweet/speech patterns, he will declare the election invalid and go to the Supreme Court, his court. We are so screwed.
I thought we had an overnight Senate session. Why didn't we ignore the lone Republican present, elect a majority leader, and announce it? That's what Mitch would do. Merrick Garland? Ignore him. Committee quorum? Declare it. Why can't we do the same things?

(14,891 posts)gutting his vote rich counties and taking away the massive margins could be enough for us.
I doubt we will win FL as long as the hold the gov, ag, and legislature. It's just too corrupt.
But if we do, it will by hurting his numbers in strongholds. A small percentage of a large number is significant.

(3,059 posts)I think Trump underestimates what the response will be if he tries this shit. I live in Vegas, have sick leave accumulated, 3 available seats in my car, and I'm ready to hit the road for DC. I'm sure I'm not alone in that commitment. I think there'll be a turnout that will dwarf the Women's March of 2017, and I don't think the military will support him. We can't do anything about November 4th to January 20, and while I'd love to see his fat ass thrown out of the White House at 12:01, I don't think he'll last that long. As soon as he figures out that he can't bully his way back into the WH, he'll be on his plane and heading to Russia. Even he knows if he stays here without the protection of the Presidency he's exposed as the con artist he is, loses everything and goes to jail.

(32,823 posts)My dad was probably about the same age as your dad. He was training to be a navy pilot, and had less than 2 months of training left before he would have been sent to Japan. He would have gone for sure, except the "Unconditional Surrender" happened in August 1945.
I'm so tired of the way the media treats Chump with kid gloves. As far as I can see, the media is complicit with this lies and deception for the last 5 years. Can't wait for this to finally be over!

(1,977 posts)The other night he said he thinks that they will be taking back the house and California. This tells me we had better be ready for Russia style rigged elections.
I am not saying it is going to happen but we should be prepared if it does. I believe we are going to see cheating on a bold level we have never seen before. How successful that will be I dont know.

(14,861 posts)He won't concede. He and his fans are never going to accept that he lost. After the election he'll be flying around the country, holding rallies and telling them he and they were robbed, and they will believe him. All of the right-wing media outlets, websites, and bloggers will parrot whatever he says, and thousands of churches will be preaching it from the pulpit. I really don't see any way to end this mass delusion.

(6,215 posts)..... communication. His next duty station was a training base in Washington State.... to learn Japanese code. We did not find out about this part of his services until I got his entire military record in the late 1990s. He then told the family that he would have been sent to Japan.
The thought still chills me that none of the offspring would likely be here today.
On a lighter note, we saw a 2016 movie with Treat Williams called 'The Congressman.' We all wish that Congressman were like his character.
Watch it if you happen to be like me, a mid-1960's H.S. graduate who enlisted right after graduation. Then sadly lost H.S. classmates in Vietnam.
The message I got from the movie was that "The Congressman" served and tried to do good things in his life was to honor his classmates who did not come home from Vietnam. I have always felt that I owed the same debt to my classmates who did not get to come home, get married, have kids, and live a long life. My wife called it a "chick flick!"
That is why I'm here today and every day to help rid the country of the worst President in my lifetime.

(432 posts)Trump and his minions lit the fuse declaring "right and privilege" to run roughshod over anybody not like them.
If you're LGBTQ, immigrant, racial or religious minority, they can ridicule you, rough you up, violate and even kill you....because they consider you a lower level human. Females, as the weaker sex in their might makes right world, get a temporary exception so long as they are young and attractive enough, or willing to serve the male masters.
Now that it has grown from "passing thought" into political philosophy, we must stomp it out in every corner, just like post WWII Germany did with Nazism.
