Check-in if you've already voted.

I voted early last week when a coworker of my wife's came to her work sick. They sent that person home immediately but the reality occurred to me that I could easily get sidelined if I got the virus. I went immediately to our town's early voting polling place and voted. It was well run and safe and I was able to get in and out in 10 minutes.

If you haven't voted early yet you should.

And depending on where you live, you may be able to verify that your vote has been counted and/or is ready to count. I verified mine was on Massachusetts's election site.

I encourage everyone here to vote early. As of this morning 61 million Americans have cast their vote. That's 45% of the entire 2016 vote. And we still have a week to go before Election Day!

Arrival documented Oct 3.
Cleared Ballot Board and is ready to be counted probably starting very early Nov 3 (or sooner) We have a snazzy machine that opens the secrecy envelope and gets it ready for scanning and then they are scanned.

Our mail in and Early Vote in Person totals will be the first numbers released after the polls close. Our numbers have been out of sight.

On Oct 16 my friend on the Ballot Board told me they had 46,000 received so far & cleared 10,000 at that time. 86,000 ballots were mailed out and they were still mailing them. Oct 23 was the last day to request one.

Love our vote by mail! Normally we drop our ballots at the local library on election day but this time we went to the county court house to hand deliver our ballots the day after they arrived in the mail.

Best part is that it was a Republican who pushed the vote by mail system here, with the aim of creating increased voter participation. Worked too!

It's been verified and counted. That wasn't the case for my daughter-in-law's mother. She mailed in her ballot. She was notified that it wasn't counted. She called and was told she had requested another ballot which she had not at that time. It took her two days to get things squared away. Since they refused to count her first one she then did request a second one. She got it, filled it out and took it to a drop box. This is in Maricopa County, AZ.

61. Voted in Nevada last week!
Mon Oct 26, 2020, 01:42 PM
Oct 2020

I got my NV DL and made a beeline to an early voting location. After waiting about 20 minutes in line, I was asked to show my temporary DL and voided CA DL so they could verify my signature. A poll worker yelled, "New voter!" The place burst into cheers, and I curtsied and said, "First time in Nevada; I've been voting since 1980!" I was handed a bowl of candy and asked to choose one. I voted straight Democratic and didn't vote for a Republican running unopposed.

My husband got his NV license and voted on Saturday. Two Biden-Harris votes in our immediate family! And my sister, who is staying with us, returns to the Bay Area Sunday to cast her vote for Biden.

Missouri is red so they don't publicize this, but you can vote absentee in-person early at a Board of Elections office by selecting the "Health/Covid" reason on the PollPad tablet when you check in. You don't need a witness or a notary, and they can't ask you any specific questions about your health. You just need a valid ID.

Voted on paper, and scribbled those rectangles in so completely with the provided ball-point pen there's no mistake about my intent!

We are residents of the state of Washington. Our vote does matter because we have a Republican US Representative... who is nothing more than a GOP rubber stamp and enabler.

We Live in Central Mexico and I had to have my sister send our ballots down to us. She didn't get them delivered to her house until the 16th... and she sent them down via UPS Laredo Texas. Hopefully they have arrived here in our town and I'm going to go check and see if they have. If so we will fill them out right away and send them back. Hopefully they will get back to Washington State elections before it is too late.

Why they had to wait so late to send them out to residents in Washington state is beyond me😕.

Picked up our ballots a few hours ago, filled them out in 30 minutes, and sent them to be mailed up in Laredo in the next couple days. God, I'm relieved. I know, being a resident of Washington state, nearly every Democrat is secure; but we just so happen to have jamie herrera-beutler, a republiKKKan rubber stamp stooge, as our US Representative. We HAVE TO get rid of her. She is worthless, and has been for the past 12 years. That vote mattered!

Mon Oct 26, 2020, 02:11 PM
Oct 2020

We had requested mail-in ballots but then got lazy and and then decided to go to the early voting location near our house. About 10 people in line ahead of us but it went pretty quickly. They asked about our mail-in ballots and we told them we changed our mind and wanted to vote in person and they said just be sure to destroy the mail-in ballots when we got home.

Easy as pie! Which is a saying I don't understand - is it easy as making pie? or eating it? I can eat pie like a champ but making it is another kettle of cats.

Funny story while were in line: The mail-in ballot drop-off box was up by the entrance with a poll-worker monitoring it. A guy comes up and asks to speak to the poll worker and they huddle up. Then the poll worker calls for a Library worker (we were at a public library). Finally they stopped being quiet and we could hear them plainly - the man, wanting to give his young son a taste of civic duty, had sent his son up to drop their mail-in ballots in the collection box. But apparently he got a little confused and dropped them into the library book return box. So they needed the Library staff to come open it and get the ballots out. Everything worked out and the ballots got put in the right box. And they put a sign up on the book drop lol.

It wasn't a completely unreasonable mistake - there were a lot of boxes to drop stuff in and they don't look ALL that different but they were just far enough apart that poll-workers might not have seen the kid going to the wrong one..

Another nice thing was the county Democratic party had people there (at the prescribed distance) handing out voting guides which came in handy for those local city council races. They were busy and getting a lot of traffic while the lonely trump flag waver across the driveway from them sat bored. Good. Hope her ass hurts from all that sitting.

I had trouble reaching the circuit clerk's office in my county so I could get them to mail me a ballot. Called the state Democratic Party and they gave me a good number to call. I told them I was in the hospital with an amputated leg, so they didn't give me any bullshit about sending an absentee ballot. It was sent off last week, so they should have it, since it only had to travel across town. Voted for Biden and Harris and Mike Espy for Senator. I have no illusions that Biden will win Mississippi, but I do think Espy might be able to pull off a win. Had to vote for the medical marijuana law, too.

(NOT FROM THE FUCKHEADS AT THE CENTER FOR VOTER INFORMATION - THEY KEEP MAILING SHIT TO ME THOUGH I LONG AGO TWICE FOLLOWED THE UNSUBSCRIBE INSTRUCTIONS AT THE BOTTOM OF THEIR LETTERS. THAT'S WHY I THINK THEY ARE FUCKHEADS AND LITERAL ASSWIPES -- MY VIEW OF EVERYONE THAT PUTS ME THROUGH THE PROCESS OF UNSUBSCRIBING AND THEN IGNORING IT, I'M STILL GETTING SHIT FROM THEM NEARLY A MONTH AFTER MY TWO UNSUBSCRIBE REQUESTS. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THAT I HATE THEM, THEN WELL, LIFE SUCKS AND THEN YOU DIE. https://www.mprnews.org/story/2020/10/26/pro-publica-nonprofit-sending-confusing-ballot-applications ).

Mailed in my primary ballot through U.S.P.S. (wasn't worried about ballot-delay shenanigans for the primary election)

For the general election, I sat on the ballot for weeks. Was hoping Golden Valley, MN would set up a drop box, but never did. I didn't want to mail it ...

so, though mad as hell that I'd have to go in-person and interact with people to apply for a new ballot and then vote it (though I had done that at home long ago), I went to my early voting location at Golden Valley City Hall to at least check it out.

I brought my ballot that I had gotten in the mail, duly filled out and voted, enclosed in the privacy envelope which was enclosed in the signature envelope (filled out of course), which was enclosed in the mailing envelope -- so that it was ready to drop in the mail if I chose to do so except for sealing the envelopes.

Wednesday around 1230p Oct 21 at Golden Valley City Hall -- not another soul there, besides the friendly lady at the desk in the voting area (masked, and with plexiglass from countertop to ceiling). Decided I wasn't going to get Covid there.

No problem with using my ballot that I had gotten in the mail. She gave me back the mailing envelope as she doesn't need. She sealed the signature envelope with a sponge-tipped liquid applier stick. (No problem that the ballot privacy envelope wasn't sealed, she said - she never looked at the ballot, BTW).

About 3 or 4 days later it was shown as "accepted and will be counted" or some such words at the MN SOS website (I have to key in some identifying information).

#52 on the first day of early voting in Duval. I dropped off my wife's mail-in ballot, then had mine voided and did it personally. I didn't want to take any chances with the signature. Later I verified online that both had been counted.

The old lady living next door, who also hates Trump, received her absentee ballot on the same day. Her ballot was also finally counted yesterday (per VoteOhio.gov) after I repeatedly reminded her to turn it in. She didn't trust USPS, but she kept procrastinating over taking it to the county dropbox miles away until my latest reminder on Saturday.

at the beginning of the month. Dropped it off in the city ballot drop box. Super easy. I don't have time for waiting in lines on Tuesdays. I have to work and now also help my kid with remote school at the same time. Add to that the covid-19 social distancing and how crazy repubs have been acting... like they might pull something bad somewhere on election day and I really don't want to be near a polling place on election day.

in Michigan! My fear is trump yelling about counting election night votes and not mail in/drop off. He will go to the Supreme Court to stop the counting. This is what we voted for in 2018 and all our votes must be counted.

Finally, and it felt so good to get it done.

Signs on entering the building required masks, no electioneering or campaigning, no political clothing/hats allowed. There was a steady stream of people coming and going by ones and twos, but no waiting. Communal cup of pens (*bzzt*) for signing paperwork but plenty of hand sanitizer available. I wore gloves.

For all the care taken to move from the usual room to another larger room, the extra space was not effectively used. Half a dozen machines were available, but they were not spaced six feet apart or staggered into separate rows. The check-in table and machines were all crammed to the side of the room, leaving most of the normal furniture (large tables at the front for city council, rows of chairs for attendees) unmoved. People, what was the point? 🤦‍♀️

Voting was easy, my ballot registered everything as I wanted and printed fine, and it went into the box and showed I was voter number 6,654. Whee! More hand sanitizer and a sticker were offered on the way out. My gloves and I declined the sanitizer but kept the sticker. I came home and put on my new favorite t-shirt, woohoo!

I wish that everyone going to do the same has such an easy ride and a warm reception. Despite the reputation of Montana militia types there were no guns on display and none likely to be.

I know this will not be true for everyone else. I have seen the ugly we all fear on display when I lived in North Carolina. I have seen it here in Montana too.

I wanted to celebrate the idea that it does NOT have to be that way. I also wanted to say that the divisions and anger that push the Dangerous and the Ugly forward are not natural phenomenon nor are the the American Way.

My brother and I voted today to help move our world and yours closer to the truth.

absentee, in person. Our county (a purple county in Missouri) set up a great satellite polling place at the health department, which happens to be pretty close to where we live.

I had planned on going to to polls on Tuesday (with a rollator i was going to borrow from a neighbor because I can't stand in lines very long) but when i saw this option I said let's go for it.

Took my selfie afterward in my mirror aviator sunglasses that Biden sometimes wears, even though it was cloudy.

Sure is great to have that vote in! I fear Missouri will go for trump, but I and my family are doing our part to get some votes in for Biden and Harris.

I took RGB with me. Several people appreciated it.

Only three fools without masks - fanastic, considering that a little over 2 hours of it was spent outside in line. Unfortunately, as we were going through the snake under the tent, I kept encountering them couple and the single person at the same time, so I couldn't slide away from one without slding closer to the other two. 5 times in the snake. Bummer.

A pollworker trying to be funny asked one person where they slept last night. He took them literally and gave the address where he slept last nignt - which was not where he lived. He almost didn't get to vote. Not cool (generally). But since my daughter has a homeless friend of hers living in her car . . . even more not funny. We've been strategizing about how to get ID since where he slept last night sn't his address and can't easlly be wrangled into obtaining an ID - since only family or a licensed agency can provide a person without housing with a non-residential address for their ID.
