you allow Republicans to have to power. Now what. Blue wave. My blue state will continue to stand with our women and girls and gays, and hopefully health care will be taken care of once Democrats get into the white house.

The corrupt Republican juggernaut needs to be stopped, but I've been saying that for decades (especially during he Dubya years).

Starts with this election. Rachel just pointed out that Obama's the 2 nominees that Repukes allowed to be seated were sworn in at the Supreme Court, without him there. Trump's have been big-ass Republican parties at the White House, with him standing closer to them than their spouses. Republicans need to be wiped out...forever.

It's crazy that Delaware or Montana have the same number of Senators as California

I felt there would be enormous consequences. I was right.

I cry when people are being hurt, ignored, abused, etc. I won’t apologize for that.

Straight, white, cis, male, pro-Nazi, and extremely rich, you’re screwed (I fall into multiple of the marginalized groups) It’s a sad, frustrating evening, but fuck ‘em... they won’t break me. I am way more pissed than defeated.

feeling helpless is useless though, we gotta work on state and local elections if we want to see real change. Nothing is permanent. I am 99.9% certain SC expansion won’t happen in our lifetimes, we need to focus on longer term and different strategy.

As I knew that there was nothing any of us could do about what McConnell and the republicans have done. The best I can do right now is hope that there will be a reckoning and that republicans will live to regret what they have done.

Some day very soon, their era of corruption and lawlessness will end, though we will now be stuck with yet another far-right ideologue on the Supreme Court. I don't know what the answer will be, but if I dwell too much on it, I'll lose what little sanity I have left. So for right now, I'm taking it one day at a time.

Meanwhile, I'm rewatching The West Wing. I happen to be on one of the episodes about a Supreme Court nominee and imagining a more sane world with a President Joseph Biden.

And may Mitch McConnell get everything he deserves 100 fold.

I think a lot of us are feeling the same way on this dark night. Having said that, if we win the Presidency and the Senate, we'll all need to call, email, have protests, and whatever else we can do to INSIST that we add FOUR (4) seats to the SCOTUS.

And then we'll need to get to work on everything we need to repair starting with voting rights...
