Stress is getting severe

My wife has had a few crying fits lately. One was understandably caused by the death of a 32-yr old relative from Covid, but the others were from a more generalized sense of doom. Like, "Who is next?"

Somehow I am letting all this roll off of my back, but it's there.

Find myself bursting into tears for nothing. Keep having to remind myself to chill. Hugs to her 🤗

We've had a lot of deaths in the family, some from COVID. We have to win this time. We just have to. And then we have to punish those who sought to destroy this country for their own gain. They cannot be allowed to do this again.

...try limiting exposure to news and other media and maximize quality self-time.

Be certain to set a definite time, at least once a week, to do something you both enjoy.

Best wishes.

And when I turn on the TV, it's for science or nature shows.

Who knew our democracy was so goddamn fragile?

...that needs to be perpetually defended just by the nature of democracy, alone.

It's always been a generational effort to teach, persuade, and maintain support for the things the Court stands up for. After all, the Court doesn't posses or control any effective enforcement of their rulings.

That responsibility rests with the American people's commitment to vigilance and justice. Republicans standing in the way of progress, undoing it, took their shot, and now we'll vote...

But, RussBLib, I sincerely wish you and your family finds some peace. You have every right to expect it.

Who can blame you? I'm sorry you're both feeling this way. Perhaps regularly scheduled activities might help - even something like a walk around the neighborhood or area if that's possible - to give you something to look forward to each day, every other day, or however you prefer. Or some relaxing music or entertaining TV - nothing political of course - that you can enjoy together. All my best to you.

I feel my anxiety rising day by day. In 2018 I had an anxiety attack when the midterm results were coming in. Election night has become a dreadful event. A Trump win was simply unthinkable and tragic. It will take a lot of time and healing to have a healthy view of elections again.
