leaving their ballots on the "kitchen table". In other words they requested ballots but are not going to vote.

(1,692 posts)Dreams CBS. Why in the world would Dems request ballots and not mail them in. We want the orange menace gone come next Tuesday.

(12,409 posts)and so are others I know.
My whole intention from day one was to vote on the actual voting day as Ive always done, but because of Covid I wanted to have a ballot just in case I got sick or anything else that might happen. I have filled out my ballot but now that we are a week away from voting, I feel pretty confident that I will be there to personally step into the booth and vote as I always have. I already know the rules and I have verified them, that I have to takeMy ballot along and hand it in before I am allowed to vote, which I will do. I know that Im not the only person doing this. I think a lot of people who totally intend to vote, and will vote, took the extra precaution of getting a mail in ballot this year.

We both waited & voted and were in & out in 15 minutes.
Just in front of us a woman turned in her mail ballot, poll worker gave her a receipt & an in-person ballot.
Practically nothing to it!

In Pennsylvania, almost 70% of the Dems who requested mailed ballots have responded and their ballots have been received as recently as today. Independents are also at 54% response rate.
In our state some areas experienced a printing/mailing snafu that was discussed on other posts, and that led to a 3 day extension. The PA Supreme Court has ruled on an additional 3 days for voters to have their mailed ballots counted, even if the ballots haven't been received by November 3rd.

(15,290 posts)From votespa.com, the state's official voting info site:
What if I requested a mail-in or absentee ballot but I didn't receive a ballot, lost my ballot, or changed my mind and want to vote in-person?
- If you already submitted a mail-in or absentee ballot, you cannot vote at your polling place on election day.
- If you did not return your mail-in or absentee ballot and you want to vote in person, you have two options:
1. Bring your ballot and the pre-addressed outer return envelope to your polling place to be voided. After you surrender your ballot and envelope and sign a declaration, you can then vote a regular ballot.
2. If you don't surrender your ballot and return envelope, you can only vote by provisional ballot at your polling place. Your county board of elections will then verify that you did not vote by mail before counting your provisional ballot.
