(25,894 posts)Most people absolutely do not want to think for themselves. Which is why religion in general, and churches in particular, are so popular. Every week there's someone standing up in front of you telling you what to think. This nonsense about women doing exactly and only what their husbands say, is only a small extension of that.
It does not help that public schools, even good ones, rarely encourage independent and critical thinking.
