Not sure why so many DUers hate him.

(46,077 posts)He's mildly irritating with exactly the same clothes. Rolled up sleeves. A rolled up piece of paper in his hand that he never refers to. However, I find him helpful in understanding what's going on.
If Ghandi, Martin Luther King, and Jesus of Nazareth were on a panel, some DUer would complain about them.

(16,616 posts)just as exhausted as we are, only they have to go on TV and radio and put on a show day after day.

(10,885 posts)Better that than being pleasant and hopelessly incorrect.

(3,650 posts)It wouldn't be so bad if he were a "rah-rah for our side" guy, but he's reporting statistics, which, a good percentage of the time, may not be so pleasant. In that case, he's hard to take.

(50,444 posts)I do find him, however, to be almost frenetic when on MSNBC. I don't question his analysis of the numbers, I just find it over the top and irritating more often than not.

(102,343 posts)I know he gets excited, but he is so often so OTT. I may be able to deal with it on Nov 3, but the past several weeks has had a cumulative effect that isn't at all calming, to put it mildly.

(16,829 posts)Not sure I would want to see him host his own show, but he does fine filling in and he's great when the votes are coming in.

(89 posts)If it comes down to Pennsylvania, seven counties have already announced they will not even START counting mail-in votes until the day AFTER Election Day because they say they dont have enough staff to both run the polls on election day and count the ballots that have already come in. A lot of Democratic votes will be among those mail-in ballots. So the real vote totals may be way off on election night, and only become clear a few days later.

(12,396 posts)Id rather have someone gently hug and hold my hand and feed me chocolates and tell me we are winning and ignore those mean numbers.

(15,651 posts)He can be guilty of the statistical equivalent of Bothsiderism , giving too much credibility to polls or stats that deserve more scrutiny.
Rachel actually did this last night, giving undue coverage to a Bloomberg report that claimed that AA and Latino turnout was way below expectations in some states, something I believe has been debunked by other sources, including 538.

(34,467 posts)The largest county in the state doesnt report until the end, and its very blue. VA is definitely going blue this year

(34,467 posts)She speaks too quickly, takes gasps for breath, etc. I feel my anxiety levels rising so much that I have to change the channel. I dont know why a producer doesnt suggest that she slow down.

(937 posts)He lets you know the percentages you are looking for to win the state and also which counties have reported. I kept waiting for him to say that magic votes were coming for Wisconsin in 2016.

(5,300 posts)I just get sick of them dragging him out on every show to play the same game of "what if ...?"
