I love Jonathan Capehart. I hope he gets the AM Joy spot

I've always loved JC. Of all the people that have been guest hosting, I've enjoyed his presence the most. I love all of them, but JC has the right balance of seriousness and humor at times to take the edge off.

She likes intelligent, clean cut, and polite young men with a sense of humor.

That includes Obama and her pharmacist.

for as long as I can remember. I'm not surprised that she has the skills to pull off her own show.

What I'd like to see is less of the over-the-top hyperkinetic programming, such as, "watch me tear apart this super right-winger". When Joy Reid kept bringing back the same nutjob preacher just so she could put on such a show, I quit watching her. One time, could be seen as spontaneous, but more than once is contrived entertainment. This guy was so extreme, there was no reason to book him more than once. She did it with a number of Trump nutty surrogates. This is the sort of thing I'd expect from Fox, not MSNBC.

When a guest is that obnoxious and off-the-wall, you just cut them off and don't invite them back again.

that we ONLY supported him because he's an old white man. No matter how many times Biden supporters tried to disavow that as the reason for supporting him, she wouldn't be persuaded otherwise. She doesn't deserve my support and she won't get it.

I didn't know that. Must have come after I'd stopped watching her. When she moved to Matthews' time slot, I didn't watch her there either. Zerlina Maxwell's many criticisms of Joe turned me off as well and now I can't stand watching her. Once Joe became the nominee, she claimed her criticism was to make him a better candidate, which I thought was truly offensive. She has a lot of nerve telling Joe what kind of candidate he should be.

When Joe chose Kamala Harris as his running mate, Maxwell said that was good, as Harris would pull him to the left. Michael Steele set her straight very quickly, something to the effect of, "Joe will be President and HE will set the agenda and tone, not his VP". It was so insulting, as if Biden was a wishy-washy old man with no focus or policy ideas. Some people tend to speak before they think.

she follows me on twitter.

P.S. a lot of the insults of Biden supporters were on twitter. Though she did also insult us on her show. She was a broken record with it.

how Reid got a primetime slot during the week. It would seem that over the years, she has stepped on a lot of toes. I remember a time when I really liked her too. I would have liked Brian Williams' show moved to an earlier time slot. Now that I live on the East Coast, I'm pretty much done by 11:00 pm. I still watch him, but rarely finish the entire show. I record it, but by the next day, it is old news already.

So Zerlina follows you on Twitter? Or Joy Reid?

Last week he mangled the hand off to a commercial break and was trying to repeat what was coming in the earpiece.

It was really mangled but he has so much humanity and warmth that it was quite funny and endearing.

Back during the 2016 primaries he was the one pushing the false story that the photos of Bernie Sanders leading civil rights protest meetings when he was a student in Chicago weren't really of Bernie Sanders afterall, but some other guy. For a short time the University archives even removed Bernie's name from those photos as a result, until the now renowned photographer who took the original photos (who still has the print sheets) set the record straight.

Holding onto grudges in politics is a dangerous practice. I wish Jonathan well, he is very talented.

Of all the guest hosts I've seen on AM Joy, Capehart has been my favorite. He's long overdue to get his own show. As much as I like some of the other hosts, two hours on a weekend morning is just too much for me. Actually, I had quit watching AM Joy because Reid could be exhausting. Saturday and Sunday morning, they need to decaffeinate a bit. From the little bit I've seen, Capehart sets the right tone.
