NC election officials expect around 1 million people to vote on Election Day

10:30 a.m.: State Board of Elections director Karen Brinson Bell on Tuesday encouraged all registered voters who haven't yet secured their vote to do so before 7:30 p.m. Around 97% of NC votes are expected to be counted by Tuesday night, although the results won't be considered official until the end of a 10-day canvas period in the state. During that time, election officials will count absentee ballots postmarked by Nov. 3, and counties will also conduct audits ...

... it's quiet. It's more like a lazy off-year primary than a presidential election, and far less than the four hour line I stood in two weeks ago.

FWIW, they were all in Cary.

Like many parts of the country, election day 2020 may not be as busy, not because of low turnout, but because people have already voted.
