My ears bleed with the phrase "A Vermont" "A Colorado" Etc.

"A Carolina" is okay because there are two. Same with "A Dakota" or "A Virginia".

There is no meaning to "A Texas" There is ONLY ONE Texas.

I know its a term of art, but it is just plain silly to use the phrase.
