(17,865 posts)We use optical scanners throughout the state, and maybe the GOP didn't send their crooked operation into the state thinking it was a lock.
Those states with electronic without paper audit trail need some serious looking at if we can actually win this thing.

(1,604 posts)One reason that the GOP does not like mail-in-ballots is because there is an audit trail. I run a site on statistics - the numbers that we were seeing were consistent across a number of different pollsters using different methods to create different models. When you see numbers that are dramatically off, there is a tendency to blame the pollsters, but I'd be looking much more closely at the voting machines. Most of those machines are in republican dominated states, and the audit process on them is laughable.

(17,865 posts)optical scanned ballots. That is what my mom's mail in ballot was for the 2018 election.
Georgia on the other hand does use BMDs. Do the ballots generated get stored for audit?
The DREs seem to be in states that are not usually in play for the Presidential race. Arizona uses DREs.
