He get's the "most disgusting" award today. That guy just characterized the American voter as just takers who don't want anything taken away from them. And of course Scab just agreed with him and started hammering how much SS, Medicare and Medicaid is costing...
Just for your information, creeps, I'm on Medicare and I don't get a "check." What universe are you in? Medicare insures me, it doesn't send me a check. I DO send a check each month for my Medicare supplementary plan, to pay for the 20% that Medicare doesn't cover both in Part B and D. That and what is taken out of my SS check are my contribution. And my share keeps going up, while I am a retiree on a fixed income. I am not complaining. You should STFU...

In fact, these high paid newsreaders don't realize how much of where they are in this life is luck since we are all born naked and needy.

(59,503 posts)I never liked Brokaw because he seemed to be a key force in turning news into entertainment - cotton candy rather than anything sustaining. He really is showing his colors here. The good thing is that what it would seem to reflect is his frustration that people actually are NOT following people like him, but actually considering their own needs and values.
One - so far - good thing this year is that it appears that billions of dollars in ads have been rejected by people. It also seems that in the places they are most prevalent, Obama is MORE ahead than in places - versus where the race was originally considered to be - where they are not played.

I have to pay extra to get Current and LinkTV, but it is sure worth it for the much better news coverage. Even MSNBC sucks at times at night, although Rachel is quite good. Big Ed just rants and raves and that has its place, but its gets tiresome after awhile. While Steve Kornacki is adorable, he seems to be heading the same direction as Brokaw. And "C" Cupp is an absolute twit. Cenk is good and does some investigative stuff, but he was also very conservative for a while and needs to be taken with a grain of salt from time to time. (24,721 posts)First of all, we don't get Medicare checks; it's a healthcare program that we -- the beneficiaries who PAID INTO the program all our working lives -- benefit from when we get medical services after we're no longer able to work.
He must be referring to our SOCIAL SECURITY CHECKS that we ALSO PAID INTO all our working lives for our RETIREMENT.
Secondly, Tom Brokaw is extremely LUCKY that he was able to work as any type of news reader during the time of Walter Cronkite. His LISP & broken enunciation was not worth the MILLIONS he was paid on a yearly basis. Despite the fact that Brokaw evidently knew someone who could help him get an edge over more qualified or more worthy news readers, he's on a high horse as a one-percenter & now feels like "I've got MINE; I can look DOWN on everyone beneath me." He could care less about those who actually had to work HARD to make sure Tom Brokaw could have smooth roads to be chauffered around in, including the bridges; a fancy house to live in; all his fancy meals & evenings out; his expensive clothes; his expensive haircuts; & all the other services that were provided to him on a daily basis.
Tom Brokaw has been OVER-EMPLOYED in his field, considering the limitations of his talent. And now I'm convinced that he is also unaware of his lack of substance in comparison to those who actually work HARD to make life pleasant for him.
One thing good that has come of this "class" debate is that, with all the discussion going on, it's easier to detect who the real creeps are, & Tom Brokaw is one of them.
