You better worry about this Presidential election

If you're not listening to On Point today, you should listen later. The Republicans may have well screwed millions of democratic voters through voter id laws and voter disenfranchisement. Florida, NH, Ohio are some of the states where the republicans are rigging the game.

I didn't have the proper identification on me and this is all new as we used to be able to walk in say our name they'd look it up and you'd sign next to it and get your ballot and vote, not so true here anymore.

Just for insurance I'm going to print out the rules for what is acceptable as ID for voting just in case. This last time the worker almost didn't let me vote even though I had a photo ID, VA card. One of the other workers says that they see me there all the time and I'm good to go so they gave me a ballot but I had to make a stand or I wouldn't have been allowed to.
Have to fight to vote, what kind of democracy is that anyway?

15 months in Vietnam gave me this right to vote.
That person never got it though as the other worker is the one who got it and gave me the ballot

We have to make sure everyone votes and stop republican attempts to prevent it. If I'm not mistaken, this is already under way, but we should continue to press officials from every possible direction to correct this and do everything we can in the next month to get people registered and voting.

If we all vote and all of the votes are counted, the President will win. That statement is true.

Are you saying no one is addressing voter disenfranchisement attempts? That's not what I heard, but if you know otherwise, you should be providing this information to the proper authorities immediately.

Are you saying the votes aren't being counted? This has been a problem since 2000. Despite it, President Obama won four years ago. What has changed? Again, if you have information suggesting illegal activity, you should be reporting this immediately.

I am not going to join you in hand-wringing, but I am concerned that all of our votes get counted. What is the solution this broadcast suggests? Or are we just supposed to worry about the election?

Why don't you just listen to the show later and become informed?

I am aware of all of the attempts to disenfranchise Democratic voters, and many of those are being challenged as we type. I don't want sit in a circle and complain about our doom, I want solutions. If they aren't offering any on the show, I will assume the show is just designed to demoralize us, and they can fuck themselves.

Sharp and informative every day. Tom Ashbrook is inquisitive and poignant. He does not have patience for anything but a direct answer from his guests nor a direct question or worthwhile insight from the callers, forcing a lot of quality content into just under fifty minutes a show. I'm repeatedly surprised how they take a seemingly uninteresting topic and turn it into a fascinating, concise 50 minute show (actually two shows!) everyday. On Point is a top notch current affairs show that I wish other journalists/shows would attempt to copy. Cheers to the entire On Point staff.

Consistently informative. Tom Ashbrook has the ability to take topics you cannot even imagine being interested in, and making them enormously fascinating. His warmth and authentic concern for the viewpoints of the callers puts this program into the five star category!

And what do you think I'm not credible about? Do tell.

I'm trying to be aware of what's going on and what republicans are doing to rig the game.

And take your insinuations and, well, just imagine where you can shove them.

I don't believe in emulating your stick your head where the sun don't shine philosophy.

Indeed, I think your worry alone can allow up to 3,000 DUers to go worry free for the better part of the next 36 days. No doubt you'll keep your pace of 3-6 worry threads a day up, so that should about cover the worry of many others.

I'm not joking.

You worry, post multiple threads of all kinds of worries you have, and the world keeps spinning along.

Should I worry when you do it so well and frequently for the rest of us? Should Ipost thread after thread explaining my worry? Why? You are hitting all the issues that would cause worry, and seem to be well enough worried for everyone else. So, what are we supposed to do with all this worry you seek to produce? That's the question.

Since you seem terminally incapable of answering it, apart from noting that we should be worried, I'll just let you be worried, you post the endless worry threads, etc., while going on about my business of phone banking and door knocking, and otherwise supporting multiple campaigns at various levels.

But by all means, continue to worry. It's healthy and productive, to be sure. Just so long as you're the worry surrogate, I feel well covered in the worry department.

Vote and get out the vote. Complacence loses. Complacence is what the GOP accuses the 47% of and they are imagining that we are too lazy, spoiled, unambitious, etc. to take them out. We cannot let them win this.
