Surely there is a way to get across the fact that corporations take much more out of the economy that you or I ever could.

Come in, saddle the government with huge debts, then tell the American people there isn't enough in the budget to pay for social programs and they need to be revised (translate: destroyed), and push for deep cuts on the unwashed masses.

Am I the only one who sees this?

Anyway, this is what Romney and the Republicans have in store for the United States. All we need to do is look at the eight years of Bush, aided and abetted by twelve years of a Republican controlled Congress and failed Republican policies (successful for them, failed for the rest of us) to see the eerie similarities between Bain's business model and Republican policies, and the same devastating results.

for years and years. They do this EVERY TIME they lose the presidency. Every single time. They run up the deficit the entire time they're in office and then when they lose, they cry to the new president that we can't afford social programs because the deficit is so big. Nothing, of course, is said about who ran it up.

I'm so sick of the American people losing their memory about this shit.

I'm still flabbergasted we had lost control of the House, huge amounts of state legislatures and state houses across this country in the 2010 "shellacking". I can't believe Americans had forgotten eight years of Bush and twelve years of failed Republican policies that pushed this country to the cliff and nearly over it when it only happened two years before.

"When Democrats vote, Democrats win." But, that's the problem with the midterms: we don't vote. We sit on our asses during the midterms and let the Republicans outvote us. It's happened over and over again. We need to learn, we Dems, that we must vote EVERY election, not just every four years. If we don't, we hamstring the candidate we just put into office two years before, because we let the Rethugs elect their candidates for the House and the Senate.

The difference between the American electorate and countries like France are that the French are ALWAYS paying attention; they are always politicized, not just during the big elections, that happen every four years here. And look at the French--they have benefits, vacations, healthcare, etc. They earned those by voting every time, all the time. We need to wake the fuck up, as Samuel Jackson says.

My daughter has learned that many in her peer group (18-25) believe there are only presidential elections! She was shocked to discover that only the Republicans she knows knew about the 2010 elections. Now she's helping educate those Progressive voters that there are elections every two years, and when they try to pooh-pooh her off, she says, "Politics may be boring to you, but it'll matter when you get sick and can't afford health care, or the minimum wage drops instead of rises to become a living wage, when there are no jobs or the water you drink is more toxic . . . then you'll care."

That puts things in perspective for them. As with anything for most young people, the inevitable question is, what will I get out of voting.

I raised all my three children to be Progressives, to think for themselves, and to understand that our vote matters and to see it as our duty and honor as Americans to ensure we vote in each and every election.

Ad servers can see what type of sites you visited. That way they find your interests and give ads they think target you.

If you've been snooping around a lot of political sites, you will get those type of ads.
