There are differences of opinion here about whether Obama has an insurmountable lead, even with the effects of massive voter suppression and the expected ad-valanche to come, courtesy of Citizens United dollars.
It almost goes without saying that the media and the PTB won't feel it's worth acting upon anyway, but will the unconscionable mess the Right has made of our election process be dealt with after the election (assuming an Obama win) or continue to mark us as banana republic worthy?

(785 posts)You'd think that after 200 years we would be doing better by now. Unverifiable "paperless" voting??? You must be joking. Voter purges and voter suppression??? Why aren't people in the streets protesting???

Sorry, "Dems and Republicans are the same" mantra is not credible in the face of actual fact.

(20,234 posts)putting YOUR words in my mouth? Does it make it easier in your simple world?
The parties are not and should not be the same. We (The members of the parties) are the ones
who have to keep our "leaders" from allowing them to be the same.
Prove me wrong. Where is there any evidence of the Democratic LEadership fighting against the BBV?
If you can't respond to that simple question, I will have to conclude your are some kind of BOT and put you on ignore.

(44,124 posts)Thanks. If that's what you meant, than no doubt you can see why I was confused by your original sentence. You appeared to be demonizing lots of Dems the way you wrote that.
So for example, I have yet to hear a single Democrat embracing the "status quo" of Citizens United or voter suppression laws.
As to "proving" anything to you - OP referenced Citizens United and Voter Suppression. Pelosi wants to take it down, that's why I am voting a straight Democratic ticket There are plenty of Dems who have spoken out against both. Repeating myself, only Republican I have heard denounce it has been John McCain.
ON EDIT: great news

(34,136 posts)From the pockets of the insanely rich to the pockets of political operatives and media consultants.
Even if the wealthy don't get the return on their investments they wish, the political operatives will still try to convince them do donate again. The political hacks are flush with the amount of money they have raked in this campaign cycle and will want to stay on that gravy train in the future.
Look at Nathan Sproul, who set up the voter registration fraud in Florida and across the country - newly established company got over a million bucks for his fraud. The Florida GOP cut all ties but I have not read anywhere that they are asking for their money back. Sproul will get to keep it most likely.
Unless the state actually charges him with a crime and takes him to trial and, miracle of miracle, convicts him, there is absolutely no incentive for Sproul to not try the same fraud yet again with another shell corporation and maybe a front man to take the heat if they are caught again. Why not, if he can get over a million bucks for a scam that only lasts a few months and probably cost him less than a tenth of what he was paid?

An Obama win at least gives us a chance, as he will nominate better justices.

Left something out.
We should watch closely to monitor the possibility of those predictions.
