My very short review of David Gregory's performance as a debate moderator.

David Gregory brings Bobby fucking fa chrissakes Valentine into the last ten minutes of a debate that might tilt control of the Senate. First ten minutes were on Native American heritage. Never mind the rolling catastrophe that was his moderation during the middle 40 minutes. Gregory might as well drop a turd on the stage and slide around in it like a character from The Aristocrats joke. Fuck me.

Notice that Brown was too cowardly to answer it.

3. Elizabeth Warren and the Red Sox test

In the 2010 Massachusetts special election, Scott Brown’s pickup truck was the epitome of his shocking special election upset. In 2012, the Republican senator has jumped whole-hog on the Boston Red Sox bandwagon.

Brown, who has built a successful political brand for himself as an average guy who happens to be a senator, is now using the Red Sox to reinforce that fact. This week, he’s going up with his second radio ad of the campaign focused on the BoSox. The first thanked longtime players Jason Varitek and Tim Wakefield (knuckleballer!) for their long careers with the team, while the second focuses on the team’s iconic stadium, Fenway Park. (Brown’s radio ads have also mentioned the New England Patriots.)

But this strategy isn’t really about Brown; it’s all about his opponent, Elizabeth Warren.

The Red Sox issue isn’t really about what Brown can gain, but what his opponent can lose. Namely: blue collar voters.

Used to be a local newsdope in Northern California in the Sacramento market.

I could never understand his rise in the industry.

I agree. Gregory was awful, condescending, and rude. Oh, and lousy at actually 'moderating'

He started off bring up Brown's anti Warren Native American attack and went downhill from there...

I'll bet Scott and David play golf together. It was like they rehearsed the first couple of questions. DG barreled right over EW several times, but SB was able to say, "David, I need to respond to this" or "This is a debate isn't it? I need to answer that!" and take more time. He also seemed like he'd snorted a couple of lines. I wish EW would've been able to get back to him working for Mortgage servicers. He'd probably helped build the Housing Blowout we just went through as a country.

I think she handled herself well, despite the fact that it was a fucking setup.

Gregory is a tool.

She was equipped with facts and exposed Browns lies and assertions. Laid out his voting record, for big oil, banks, his pledge to Grover Norquist to never raise taxes. She defended her advocating for an insurance company, Brown tried to make it look as though she was working against asbestos victims. She was really defending victims against another insurance company. Last debate she never defended her involvement in that case. it will be on c-span again 11:09 PM TONIGHT.
