Paul Ryan defended his refusal to go into the specifics of Mitt Romney's tax plan during a Sunday interview, saying on Monday that he likes Fox News host Chris Wallace too much to turn off his viewers by talking math.
I like Chris, Ryan told Wisconsin radio host Charlie Sykes Monday, via the Washington Post. I didnt want to get into all the math of this because everybody would start changing the channel.
Ryan also said that the Obama campaign is mischaracterizing the plan. When youre offering very specific bold solutions confusion can be your enemys best weapon, Ryan said.
During a Sunday interview, Ryan declined to discuss any math behind Romney's tax plan, saying, "It would take me too long to go through all of the math."

(50,559 posts)Simple executive summary: What deductions and credits are you going to eliminate from the tax code and what programs are you going to eliminate to pay for your rate cuts and quadrupling of defense spending? (You KNOW they aren't going to stop just at fucking with taxes; there are a vast number of programs Grover Norquist does not like and a Romney victory gives him the chance to eliminate them all.)
The reason he wants to obfuscate by claiming "it's all too complicated" is the 47 percent of America Romney has already blown off is enough to send Obama back to the White House with enough Congressional Democrats to get something done, and he knows it.

(36,437 posts)This is the political genius we're supposed to be worried about? First he refuses to state his case because there's not enough time, then he insults the audience for being too dumb and distracted to understand him?
Jesus, what a buffoon.

(12,504 posts)is it explained there for those that would like to know? They could include graphs, stats, links. It would be awesome.
So is it out there for those with the attention span to handle it?

(22,785 posts)He used Ayn Rand to appear "intellectual" to the right-wing nuts and he cloaks himself with "math" when he couldn't teach math in middle school. He's as fake as it comes.
HE DIDN'T EXPLAIN IT BECAUSE HE COULDN'T EXPLAIN IT.
