The young woman in a video that was uploaded to YouTube more than a week ago who is seen registering voters in El Paso County, Colorado and admits to trying to only register voters who support Mitt Romney has been confirmed to be a former contract employee of Strategic Allied Consulting -- the firm run by longtime GOP consultant Nathan Sproul that is currently under investigation for possible voter fraud in three Florida counties.
Fox31's Eli Stoklos, who broke the story over the weekend, reported that the Colorado GOP has spent almost half its total budget -- nearly $500,000 -- with Strategic Allied Consulting while the Republican National Committee has dropped more than $3 million into Sproul's company this year to conduct voter registration drives in five swing states -- Colorado, Florida, Nevada, North Carolina and Virginia.

The El Paso County Clerk and Recorder Wayne Williams disavowed the young woman's statements that she was registering voters on behalf of Williams' office. "The statement made in this video is both unfortunate and inaccurate," Williams said in a statement. "My office does not and will not engage in partisan voter registration. It is the duty of the Clerks office to ensure that elections are conducted in a fair and honest manner, this includes allowing any one to register to vote regardless of their political party affiliation."
Republicans in El Paso County claimed that the video was recorded more than a month ago by a Democratic "campaign operative" and has been released now to damage the Romney campaign. But, Christy Lelait, Chairman for the El Paso County Democrats denies that charge to KOAA. "It's an interesting charge. I don't know of any campaign operatives here in El Paso County and I know for certain that the woman who shot this video is not a campaign operative, she's a volunteer with several different organizations including the El Paso Democratic Party and she's also a precinct chair."

(4,507 posts)As I pointed out in the thread on this before, that girl is wearing a CTR (Choose the Right) Ring, meaning she is a mormon.
It may be more than a slip that she first says she's working for the El Paso County Clerk.
Wayne Williams (the El Paso County Clerk) is a prominent mormon local elected official.
This story stinks to high hell.
People need to push on this story!!!!

(51,666 posts)same LDS ward as Wayne Williams. So she would be compelled to do whatever he told her to do. Women are required to always obey priesthood holders, and he is one. He probably told her at church that it was her sacred duty to go work for that group. Hell, he probably told all the young people there that it was.
That's probably why she said she "worked" for him.

(452 posts)Even if the girl is part of the Republican party or a Right-wing group or a religous group do not go after the girl go after the company. The company is more important then the girl the girl is just a person. Focus on the story that needs to be not one that is small.

(238 posts)I live in Colorado Springs. This town is politically fraud-ridden. The registration fraud attempt at the Safeway store happened just a couple of miles from where I live. In this town the County Clerk's Office is nothing more than a revolving door. Please ask for an investigation to clean this crap up. I know that the fraud is being dictated by the RNC but the politicos in this town are either blind followers or have been bought.

(452 posts)properly link it to the story from Florida. Rachel has a great show tonight about how the attention the company is getting has shut down the Republican GOTV process. It's working and getting attention big time. Now just link it to Republicans attacking Acorn and showing Clips of their own words.

(224 posts)By El Paso county standards that sounds about right. I went to a grocery store there once and practically got assaulted for not signing a "Personhood" amendment petition. The toothless white male who chased me to my car was only about 30 and I would guess he had maybe a 9th grade ejamacashun. As I was holding my infant daughhter, trying to unlock my car, he called me a baby killer. Serious sickos in that part of Colorado!
