Nearly 100 people attended a vigil Monday evening for a mother shot and killed by a plain-clothes Border Patrol agent on Friday.
The family of Valeria "Munique" Alvarado, also known as Valeria Tachiquin, said they haven't heard from authorities that the 32-year-old mother of five was killed, let alone why she was killed.
Officials from U.S. Customs and Border Patrol say the agent was serving a search warrant when he was struck and dragged several hundred yards by a woman driving a car. Alvarado was not the subject of the search warrant.
However, three days after the shooting, Alvarado's family is desperate for answers. No additional information on the incident has been released by CBP.
"Why he had to shoot my daughter 9 times, I don't understand," said Valentin Tachiquin, Alvarado's father. "We don't know who leads the investigation, we don't know who is in charge of the investigation."
