But (and I do try to stay clear of focusing on looks), that unmoving helmet hair really gives her a very unnatural look, especially when paired with dark lipstick. If she is warm and engaging, she certainly puts off a vibe of being very unapproachable.

I know throwing lookism isn't what or who I want to be as a person. I think the comments here have been pretty darned tame.

But, please don't find hairspray that unmovable. I'd bet whatever you are using still allows just enough movement to make you look "real" and not plastic. I think on a scale of 1-10 of hairsprays, anything up to about 8.5 is fine. But she's a 10++++
