Singing 'Dixie' at Romney's Denver rally

I'm not even getting into whether "Dixie: itself it's okay or whatever, that's for another thread, but if one doesn't live in a former CSA state, there is NO WAY to "rationalize" singing it.

They use them all the time. But whistling Dixie is very literal. Its not about civil war heritage, I mean obviously they were in freaking Colorado! Its about racism and rallying cry of those who don't like black people. Period. Just like folks brought back the rebel flag and whistled dixie in the 50s and 60s during the height of the civil rights movement.
