I didn't see it as racist and I don't in anyway think he is. Sometimes he's totally off base, but I still reject the notion that he's racist.

Now, that SAID, most of the wingnuts ARE openly racist.

Now, you can certainly argue that Will sincerely believes that voters are giving the president a break because he's black, but, it is a familiar and deplorable suggestion. All of the sudden, black skin is an asset in presidential politics? Who knew?

Cain was robbed!

I used to tell him all of the time how racist his attitude and writings were; particularly toward the residents of D.C..

As I'm a longtime resident of D.C. and the surrounding area, and an avid reader of the Post, you don't have anything at all on me, as far as knowing and reading and responding to Will. I can still remember how Meg Greenfield reached out to Will and persuaded him to write for them.

And yes, I read the Post for a long time - up until I was 21, met my wife, and went off to college. I'm quite familiar with MD/VA/DC issues.

his theory is completely without evidence and it is inflammatory. I'm surprised he went ahead with it and no one stopped him.

I am not saying Will is a racist, certainly not a white supremacist like some people. But what he wrote was very racist, a pretty common form which liberals are sometimes guilty of as well.

I don't get why people think he's intelligent. He uses big words from time to time, sometimes even correctly, but lots of people are capable of that.

Wrapping thesaurus pages around a turd doesn't change what it is.

puts up there with one of your intelligent blowhards.

He's a mental midget, an insufferable asshole, but your remarks don't surprise me that you can't see that this was a racist condensing statement and an assault on the common sense of American people as well as President Obama...

but I sometimes think about whether certain attitudes I have might be racist. What about you?

I don't know if George Will is racist and I don't think that is the most important issue. People sometimes make racist statements and then apologize. Sometimes it's sincere, they didn't understand why it was racist. I think it's possible George Will might end up apologizing for this column.

I'm also against anti-women, anti-gay, and anti-immigrant attitudes. My ancestry dates back to the 17th century and includes Native American blood, but even THEY were immigrants (across the straights). We're all human, dammit! Animals are equals in my mind. Race and species don't matter. We all inhabit the same planet and have to get along.

And no, I don't have racist attitudes - at all. The longer I live, the more true that's become. I remember my best friend in 9th grade using the term "nigger knocker". I thought it was funny at the time, but I find it highly offensive now. He's still racist (as was his father). My wife taught in SC 27 years ago and her landlady could NOT give a black man a compliment without adding "BLACK" to the sentence - and she corrected my wife. "Bill Cosby's a good BLACK actor." I found that highly offensive on several levels.

stating that if Obama's re-elected it's his skin color that did it is as disgustingly racist as it gets. How come Bush was re-elected? Maybe, just maybe, Obama's skin color has jack shit to do with it.

If anything, Obama's skin color works against him in the election. We've got way too many racists in the country. rMoney's "if only I was hispanic" line didn't help much, did it? I've never seen a trace of racism out of Will. Yes, he's wrong a lot, but I refuse to consider him a racist. The history of his columns does NOT show that and never has.

... almost all righties slip up and show their ass to the world. Some like this jerk, stay on the soft side of dogwhistle racism for a very long time, but then something triggers them and their actual prejudices come out. I suspect that in this case, the old white man in him sees that the future isn't going to be what the Kochheads and he imagined it would. The tide has turned and they had better be worried, 'cuz a lot of us don't feel very forgiving and we have GOOD reason to be very pissed off.
