It's simple (though impossible).

Get everybody to start selecting products based on this calculation:

Which of these comparable products on the shelf has wasted the least amount of my time with their advertising?



The whole shebang couldn't last a month.

click/read/watch on TV no ads if we can at all help it. pretty much all of our shopping at trader joe or farmers markets. make what we can at home.

the chains spend a fortune of just keeping their name out their and they own the generics.

I laugh at coupons for brand-name products because most of the time the name brand, even with the coupon, is still more expensive than the store brand and in most cases the store brand is just as good. There are few exceptions - but mostly regarding things other than food.
