we might be able to work with to get a healthcare plan, and if the ACA is not brought down by the SC, to build on that with a public option, reduced premiums, and Medicare down to 60

Where they would threaten to change their party affiliation to Independent just for a few days if the Republicans want to renominate him as leader? It wouldnt have to be a Democrat just something thats an improvement on Mitch. You could even have Manchin and Sinema join them to lend it some legitimacy. The current atmosphere is simply too toxic.
