He was an election worker and despite all of the precautions being taken, he's pretty sure that's probably where he caught it. Fortunately, he said he's actually feeling better than he did when he made that celebratory call to me on Saturday.
I've got two appointments, this week, and I'm already worrying. Especially since one is at the dentist.

(31,394 posts)I will risk not having my teeth cleaned in the interest of not exposing my old, asthmatic lungs to a closed environment where people have been sitting with their mouths constantly open.

I was scared sh*tless and chewing on a Xanax in the car!
This is not a good situation for people with compromised immune systems!!!

(28,799 posts)i haven't been to the dentist in over 8 months and usually go every 2 months for a prophy.
i am delaying my mammogram and bone scan until the Spring at least. possibly until I am able to get vaccinated.
Friday was going to be my first in-person appt with my doctor and I did go Wednesday for labs. After looking at the results i asked to switch to video and that's what we did.
I hope your cousin emerges unscathed from this rabid virus. Most people do.

I was there from 5:00 am until 9:30 pm on Nov 3rd and had my mask on the whole time except for 2 very short breaks to eat. I make my own masks (3 high quality layers) so I know I'm as protected as I can be. The polling site was a gym, but only half of it was used. There was a couple of times when there was a line to get the ballots, a line for voters waiting to feed their completed ballots into the machine, people seated or standing at all of the privacy tables/stands and people standing at all 4 of the check-in stations plus us 9 poll workers. There was no way those times were socially distanced. Way too many people in the space at the same time.
I checked-in 350 voters and I figure about 1100 - 1200 more checked-in at the other stations. I will not be surprised to get "the call." Of course, I hope I don't.
Hope your cousin continues to get better and all of us who worked the election stay covid-19 free.

(1,495 posts)We were at 1% for a long time, but over the last few weeks, it's went up every week, and now it's up to 6.4% the past few days. My neighbor's kids are quarantined because they had a kid with covid in their class. Our County Executive said today that some people admitted they went to the Trump superspreader event in Erie, PA (about an hour drive from Erie County, NY) and now they have covid. I'm either going to change my appointment to an online or just cancel it. I'm glad your cousin is feeling better.
