I dunno, wouldn't sending Congress a false election certification be a serious offense?

Let's say Congress gets this in December:

Joe Biden: Democratic Party 50.6% 2,790,648

Donald Trump: Republican Party 47.9% 2,644,525

We're declaring Trump the winner though and awarding him our electoral votes

Sincerely, the Michigan electors

That would easily count as a violation of 18 U.S. Code § 595 and that's not even including the laws on forgeries and false instruments. A state's electors overriding the will of the people and sending Congress electors that don't match up the vote in an attempt to mulligan the election could open people up to serious federal charges.

Let them try it and see what happens.

Both parties submit slates to the Secretary of State, who happens to be a democrat.
