Was it Al Franken who made up the phrase "doing a Lindsay"? Which means

"taking a 180-degree opposite stance from the firmly held conviction you announced the previous week"?

It sounds like him and I think it was during a recent interview.

But it's a great phrase and it applies to many Republicans these days.
