@ChrisMurphyCT: "There's an epidemic of delusion that is spreading out from the WH & infecting the entire Republican Party in the wake of this election, & it presents a real threat to this country. Trump didn't win the election. Every single one of my colleagues knows this."
Murphy: "He's not conceding b/c he believes there's a chance he can remain as POTUS without having won the election, so long as Republicans are willing to stick w/him step by step- & so far there's no evidence that congressional Republicans are ever going to step away from Trump"
Murphy: "This may sort of seem like a side show now to the inevitability of a transfer of power, but what's next? What if President Trump asks Republicans here to contest the selection of electors?... will you do it?"
Murphy: "The secretary of state was asked today if he thought there'd be a smooth transition of power to the winner of the election ... he said 'there will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration.' Listen -- these guys aren't playing."
Murphy: "I've watched as Republicans have engaged in a withering assault on the public sector. The whole idea from Republicans has been that govt is illegitimate by its very nature & can't do anything to help you or solve your problems... don't assume democracy can survive this."
Murphy: "The president is delusional. There was no voter fraud. He lost. The American people, by a large margin, chose Joe Biden as President of the United States. And this delusion is not a quaint side show. It's an assault on our democracy."

(15,041 posts)Fuck them. After all, they have spent decades fucking us, America, and democracy.
If you vote for a Republican, you're one of them. And "I didn't know what I was voting for" cannot be an excuse. After all, if you kill someone and then claim "I didn't know murder was illegal" it won't get you off the hook.
The Republican Party, even once Trump is gone, is a danger to us and all of our freedoms. And anyone who votes for them, whatever the reason, is a fool, naive, or a malicious fuck.
I don't care whether it's your friend, your family, or even your spouse. If he/she is voting for a Republican, they are voting to fuck you and themselves. Get them out of your life before they kill us all.
On edit: I know this post is harsh, but -- once again -- take a look at what happened in Germany in the first half of the 20th Century. Countless millions of human beings worldwide are dead because of "good Germans" who later claimed "I didn't know what was going on."

(81,304 posts)I'm in FULL LOCKSTEP agreement with you, Cyrano.
The truth was out there - available to one and all, if you bothered to watch something other than nonstop Pox Noise. The truth was on TV, on cable, AND on the internet. The truth was everywhere if you weren't constantly sucking on the teat of trump-TV, hate radio, and the toxic slime on the internet.

(1,648 posts)Until the United States nips this ongoing shit from continuing from a now rogue bastard party, then it WILL continue and fester into more dangerous means. 'Friends' do not threaten, scheme, and attempt to overturn a legitimate process to steal the possessions of their actual friends. Nothing will stop this unlawful behavior until LAW & ORDER prevails and deters that bad behavior.
It is up to the Goddamned Republican Party to grow the fuck up, conduct themselves like responsible adults, and come to terms with the majority of the country instead of their shrinking cult and their financiers... Those financiers are the ones feeding and enabling this unlawful behavior.
President-Elect Biden did not win a record majority and clear mandate from the American People to be hindered into moving to same radical dogma of the last four years. It is up to REPUBLICANS to CHANGE their damn Party, ideals, morals, ethics, and behavior!

(10,007 posts)They need to do this every day, and demand that Republicans act like they support the US Constitution while theyre at it. Perhaps they can make Trump look like an idiot by reiterating that Hillary Clinton conceded on November 9, 2016, under far more evidence of election meddling for Trump. And Obama met with him in the White House on November 10 to begin discussions of the transition.
Evidently Democrats know how to handle a transition, but Republicans are too stupid to follow the law when a clear winner has been determined.

(2,270 posts)That I find the anger welling up from Democratic leadership and here on DU too to be...... welcome but maybe even a little overdue. They, the republican party and their most holy high leader, have been killing us both literally and figuratively for far too long. About time people started getting MAD
