Biden's Acceptance speech was helped by 'Soul of America' Jon Meacham.

I just saw on HBO's prime channel 'The Soul of America' and was impressed. If you have HBO you can program to copy it when it plays again at 2a Thursday. No other showings in the near term. Or, buy the book, or get it at your library.

Does good work exploring the light and darkness of the American character. The anger that incarcerated the Japanese, the rallies of Joe McCarthy, the anti-civil rights groups of the 60's, the trumpers of today, all laid out clearly. Then, how we moved past the angry implacables of each side, of each crisis

Meacham has great range and depth. Strongly recommended to feel some hope in these crazy times.

for not telling he was the speech writer. I liked him as a contributor, and thought he had a lot to add to the conversation. Plus his knowledge of history and its events, was fantastic. Others here thought him boring. I didn't. I'll miss him on MSNBC.

while he's working for Biden's transition. The same happened to several others, including Barbara McQuade and Richard Stengel. They are still permitted to appear on the network as guests with proper disclosures of their Biden ties, but could no longer be paid contributors while working with the Biden team.

So they can work for free. They can no longer be paid for their contributions. I call that being fired. Semantics, semantics. What's one to do?
