Today's republican'ts keep such things from happening today.
If their attacks on the President were serious, they would be passing public works projects until every American had a job. A good paying job.

I was in Henderson last year and was informed that the constructions jobs on the bridge paid $60/hour, plus $15/hour contributed to a retirement plan. There was also overtime, creating great work prospects at a time when Nevada and Northwest Arizona unemployment was high.
