1. I wouldn't say any of that means they're 'closely related'.

2. So what, I'm related to many presidents and that fact along with $3.20 will get me a cup of

Starbucks "White chocolate flavored version of our classic Caffé Mocha"

I still have to wait in line with the common folks and that's demeaning to a descendant of the Chief Stewart for King Richard the Lion Heart .

I tried to get bartenders to recognize my ancestral seal is on display with the Crown Jewels in London but they have always insisted on payment in specie.

I don't recognize anyone by their ancestral tree, only by what they have accomplished.

5. OK but so what? If one believes that genetics is a major factor in determing what a person may

become, then genetics is major factor as pointed out in several controversial scientific reports.

Sounds like we need a government controlled breeding program for humans to produce the "best and brightest" who according to James Madison et al will rise to the top and lead our nation.

4. Not really very "closely related"

and that chart doesn't show "related to one another" (I've seen that all but one US president...Van Buren...has ancestry traceable to King John of England; which is quite a distant relationship, being some 20-30 generations or more back).

And a significant number of Americans are related to one or more Presidents just by virtue of common descent from the same colonial immigrant population (I'm related to Obama, Clinton, GWB and Harry Truman).

especially for the first 150 years.

I would expect much fewer familial connections for the second 150 years.
