my father-in-law and his wife of more than 60 years.
He was a B-25 pilot in the Pacific Theater.
A fine man, with a truly equal and fine woman, now gone from us.
Gone, but never forgotten. Always in our hearts.

The next time was at boot camp in 1965.
The tears started at my dad's funeral. USN WW II veteran buried at the Veterans Cemetery at Otis AFB. Less than 10 miles from the YMCA camp still there serving kids 66 years later.

(23,926 posts)My Dad was a carrier-based fighter pilot in the Pacific during WWII. He now rests in honored glory at Arlington National Cemetery.
Your father-in-law was his comrade-in-arms, and I honor him.

(11,564 posts)Although my father flew in the RCAF in the European Theater, he would have held a great affinity for your loved ones, as would I.
My deep condolences.
