Otherwise, its nearly impossible to get anything done in our system of government. I hope that the Senate follows suit.

(12,676 posts)Reduces the divisions in the house at the committee level, which will work its way up through the rest of the house.
I think the worst political blunder happened when the House agreed to the Reagan push to end earmarks in the name of "Fiscal Responsibility". Earmarks since the beginning of Congress cost both the Treasury and the Nation far less than political division has over the past 40 years.
Mccarthy loses power when earmarks come back.
