I don't know about you guys, but I donated more money this year to politicians than in the last decade combined. With the pandemic and all, I'm pretty close to tapped out. That also meant I donated less money to my favorite charities, and I feel some guilt about that.

(42,737 posts)The FY2020 budget proposal for GSA included a request for $9.62 million in funding for activities authorized by the Pre-Election Presidential Transition Act of 2010 in anticipation of the 2020-2021 presidential transition. This request was endorsed by Congress and included in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2020, which was enacted on December 20, 2019.
The FY2021 budget proposal for GSA included a request for $9.9 million for Presidential Transition Act-related activities. This request was endorsed by Congress and included in the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2021 and Other Extensions Act. Transition-related funds also were appropriated to the White House Office of Administration ($8 million) and the National Archives and Records Administration ($18 million) for presidential transition-related activities.

The money is typically $8 - 10 million so it's not a lot, it's the rest of the access that's really critical especially as a new vaccine is getting rolled out. The Biden team should be deeply involved since they will administer most of it in the coming year(s)
