Well, he succeeded.
Fear everywhere I look - sister and family; husband, myself.
Neighbor died of COVID in her sleep the other day - a friend who was some 5 years younger than me. She did have pre-existing heart problems, I understand.
I have to go out into the world tomorrow. I am unfocused and fearful tonight.
So wrong and evil. There is no punishment severe enough for those who thrust this on us.
Great nation brought to its knees.

These are evil, evil people.

But we all agreed that we'd rather be here next year - and for many years after that - than risk traveling now.

(24,776 posts)We went to see her at TG, against my better judgment. We had 0 outside interactions - just hiked, cooked, and ate together. Only a couple quick double-masked trips for groceries.
She wants to come home at Christmas. Of course, we want her. She works around people. She is 100% on it with masking - her employer wouldn't have it any other way, nor would she. She is 27 and lives alone. She hasn't socialized - other than some outdoor hikes with friends - since March. She had to isolate for 2 weeks and then test (negative) when a co-worker tested positive in early November. She is becoming depressed and quite anxious. That's why we went over TG.
Much hand-wringing over this. I know she doesn't want to endanger us, but she is not really cooperating easily with our requests either! I've mentioned wearing a mask inside when she comes.
I feel that she should be a little more mature about this, without my having to be the bad guy.

(30,765 posts)He works from home, and goes in about every two weeks to check servers and other work related things.
He is only about ninety miles from us, but there was agreement that he would not come out for Thanksgiving. My girls have husbands, so they are not alone.
I worry most about my son.

(30,765 posts)Also, one of his friends committed suicide when the friend was twenty-three. My son and the parents have remained close. They all work on suicide prevention. The parents are great. I might ask them to check up on my son as well. They know the signs of depression.

(24,776 posts)deals with teen depression and suicide. It's sometimes the only thing that gets me through the night. My daughter is an only child. She lives 10 hours away and I don't know her new friends well (she's been there for 4 years, is 27 now.) Its a delicate dance with respecting her boundaries.
Hugs and blessings to you and your family, muriel.
