https://www.rawstory.com/2020/12/trump-lawyer-whines-about-being-canceled-after-elite-club-pushes-him-out-over-threat-to-election-official/Trump attorney Joe diGenova has resigned from the elite Gridiron Club after the club asked him to step down in the wake of his call to execute former federal cybersecurity official Christopher Krebs.
The Washington Post reports that the Gridiron Club requested diGenovas resignation after he said that Krebs, who was fired by President Donald Trump for saying that the 2020 presidential election was free and fair, should be drawn and quartered and taken out and shot.
We were dismayed by his comments and we felt that they were, on top of everything else, just antithetical to what the club is about, club president Craig Gilbert tells the Post. Its a social club were all about fellowship and good will.
diGenova insists that he was merely joking about killing the former election official, and he complained to the Washington Post that he was the victim of cancel culture.
Well Joey, civilized people don't think it is funny to "joke" about shooting people.

(100,102 posts)It doesn't matter if it's Bill Burr or Ben Shapiro or James Woods. If you get fired or banned for saying something stupid or horribly insensitive, ever stop to think or analyze why people are pissed off at you? And it's not them, it's 100% you.
I've made a lot of mistakes and I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong. But I know that there's plenty who flat out refuse to admit that they have made a mistake.

(22,397 posts)and publicly say something that a large part of the public finds horrific, you have failed at your job.
You deserve to be "canceled" for that! Nobody wants to hear anybody's racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, garbage, or violent fantasies, especially in a public forum or setting. And you can't blame "cancel" or "PC" culture if you say something that horrible.

Joseph E. DiGenova sharply criticized as incompetent and naive the initial investigation of the matter conducted by former State Department Inspector General Sherman Funk, which led to DiGenovas appointment as independent counsel.
At the same time, he apologized on behalf of the United States government to former presidential assistant Janet G. Mullins, the only named target of the investigation, and to others he said had been unjustly accused of wrongdoing.
DiGenovas investigation covered whether Mullins or other officials violated any laws in searching Clintons passport files to check on a rumor that he had tried to renounce his citizenship while he was a Rhodes scholar at Oxford University in order to avoid the draft during the Vietnam War. The inquiry included whether Mullins lied or otherwise impeded Funks investigation or conspired with others to commit any offense against the United States.
While it is true that there were some stupid, dumb and indeed partisan things done by Bush Administration people in this case, DiGenova said, it is also true that no crimes were committed by any of those people who were so publicly identified.
