The leadership needs to each be hooked up to a portable lie detector, that zaps them medium strength when they lie, that is what it is going to take, isn't it?

(4,739 posts)Despite the fact that we are such weak snowflakes that we are unable to function outside of our safe spaces, we will once again take your Christmas away from you! Then we'll hide it and you'll never find it!
Seriously, this nonsense reminds me of how my mother and her mother used to control me. Make up fantastic stories about some awful thing that would happen if I didn't stay in line. Like I'd be attacked by a mannequin if I didn't stop acting a fool in the department store. Strangely, this tactic stopped working on me by the time I was six or seven. Yet, these brainwashed idiots eat it up like manna from heaven.

(16,010 posts)has EVER personally purchased a Christmas gift for any of his wives or mistresses!
Yeah. I didn't think so.
I remember many years ago going into a local jeweler to purchase a gift for my sister and there was a gorgeous young blonde woman sitting at the counter perusing a pile of diamond bracelets. The woman helping me said that her husband had sent her in to buy herself a Christmas gift - money was no object. I thought that was massively sad. Wouldn't it be nicer to receive a thoughtful card and something personal directly from your husband instead of something impersonal and expensive?
I don't know. I thought so anyway.
Note: I do not own any piles of diamonds.

(9,988 posts)In my circle of friends there are Christians, Jews, Pagans, atheists, agnostics...we're all celebrating with more joy than we've had in the last few years, socially distanced of course.
The undercurrent is, yes, we're celebrating our respective winter holidays or just enjoying pretty lights and presents - but under all that, we're really celebrating the fact that we can finally throw away that moldy sagging rotting orange jack o' lantern that's been on our national porch drawing flies and getting uglier every day since November 2016.
