...in his words: "The money would go to plenty of American households that just don't need it".
OK. How about if those with income from $50k to $75k get the $600. They'll be fine.
Those taking home $35k to $50k see a check for $1300. They'll appreciate it.
Anyone below $35k get the whole $2,000. They need it.
Why can I figure this out and Mitch can't? Am I a political genius? That's first time I heard about that.

(3,404 posts)...that pay very little tax. But they bend over backwards to gather campaign contributions from those who pay absolute $0 in taxes.

(8,168 posts)They use this logic for everything, because they actually don't give a fuck about people.
You'd think more of their tax-hating constituents would want to get their tax money back, no?

(31,261 posts)some people right here on DU have tried to make in OPs and posts. Some even made the point that some people don't need $600 checks. My position is that I don't know WHO needs what when it comes to money, a person making $150,000 a year could have financial needs that a person making $50,000 don't, and those needs could be legitimate (people have medical expenses, student loans to pay, elderly care bills that they are footing, ect). I don't know what the person that lives beside me or across the street from me needs, and I don't use my own circumstances as a measuring stick to say that they don't need something. I would much rather see $2,000 go to people making $75,000 or less, than see the money and much more go to rich people as tax cuts.

(1,239 posts)should not get it. This position also almost half justifies - no one should get it.
