Paraphrasing:
Masks are not needed, esp in outdoor public areas. This virus doesnt spread like that
...
There are literally MILLIONS of Americans who truly believe bs like that

#1 - wearing a mask is NOT enough!!!!
#2 - wearing a mask incorrectly is NOT enough!!!
#3 - wearing the wrong kind of mask correctly is NOT enough!!!
#4 - wearing the right kind of mask correctly over multiple uses is NOT enough!!!
People like the jackass at Newsweek who published a piece calling for "re-opening the economy" (again, while infections continue unabated and deaths are in the thousands per day) actually promote the veiled 'herd-immunity' mindset of saying "well, masks don't work anyway; so why bother?"....
I want to kill these sons-of-bitches. I have experienced personal losses due to COVID that can NEVER be repaired or made right or really even recovered and my wife is in health care (geriatrics) and knows dozens of people impacted by this disease and the attitudes of ill-informed bastards that should be lined up and beaten with canes.
How about we make people a deal? Don't want to wear masks in public? Fine. Don't do it. BUT....the caveat is that anyone else out in public by necessity gets to cane your fucking ass for 2 minutes. Every. Single. Masked-person.

(83 posts)You would think the rigors of med school would weed them out. I once had an internal medicine doc try to get me onboard with Amway. He told me he couldn't wait to build his Amway business big enough that he could give up practicing medicine and retire early. WTF???
Dentist tell me exactly the same thing

(33,956 posts)There are always doctors and nurses who barely graduated but they did and there isnt any differentiation in titles.
I have worked with doctors and nurses who I would consider tattooing my body that they could not touch me in the event of an emergency if I were to become incapacitated.
These are definitely not isolated incidences and I could write books of malpractice that I have personally witnessed.
I say all of this to say that it doesnt matter that a retired doctor said this. He is an idiot. His title has no bearing on his idiocy.

Q: What do you call a person who graduated at the bottom of his/her class in med school?
A: Doctor.
