Yvette Herrell is an embarrassment to NM!

Just saw in our local paper that she is planning to vote to object to the electoral college results of the 2020 election. She is the newly elected congressional representative for NM's 2nd Congressional District. I sent her an email with the subject line...."A fellow New Mexican." Thank goodness she is NOT my representative but I told her in that email that she was an embarrassment to NM citizens who saw this as a partisan, futile, foolish assault on our democracy. I am so disappointed that we lost this Democratic seat. If she keeps this up, however, I think she will lose in 2022. She only won in my opinion because 2 of the state's universities, New Mexico State in Las Cruces and Western NM University in Silver City were shut down during the election due to Covid.
When all of the faculty at the Universities as well as the students who reside on campus vote, she will lose. She is a political hack.

I have been all over there many times, from Silver City (one of my favorite little towns)
to the Gila Wilderness to Old Mesilla and Ruidoso and much more.
The article said NM2 is the 5th largest district in the US.
My mom's ashes are in the hills overlooking White Oaks, the old ghost town just north of Carrizozo.
Dems will get it back in '22.

It is a huge area, and unfortunately, there are rural areas in it that are closely aligned to Texas. These are the oil drilling areas of the state. Harrell is a grifter like so many republicans. I hope Torres-Small tuns again in 2022, because I agree, I think we can get this seat back. There is talk, however, of redistricting the state, so we will see how that plays out.

they live where they live. Other than some RA's and the like, in session or no, the live where they live. The students, on the other hand, might have been a problem. In gerrymandered states like mine, it might have actually been helpful for us.
