It worked fine until this week?
This is a bad lie. There's no chance anyone fails to figure out they made it up.

When they converted they looked funny..

But I don't think there should be too many formatting issues. I used to to edit a newsletter in MS word. It had fancy formatting with Columns and tables and inserted pictures with captions etc.

When I opened it in Open Office, the document was "all over the place"...But legal briefs are mostly indents and legal characters....

I don't have the time to look at their documents...maybe they have a whole bunch of pictures LOL..Maybe they have Clipart??

Maybe they have "exhibits"...LOL

Usually when I read these legal papers, it is mostly words, paragraphs with indents, fonts (Federal Courts require specific fonts), and legal characters....The front sheet with plaintiffs names seems to have fancier formatting...

But, doesn't really answer my question?
And, I guess it's rhetorical because I don't believe the excuse, and if it does happen, they should put in a fix long ago.
Either they're lying or incompetent. Maybe both.

If in a hurry, run the report up to the courthouse, hand to judge's secretary.
That's what I did when I was working with the courts early in my career.

Most attorneys have very competent legal secretaries and paralegals who get the paperwork together.
